Outrank vs Blogizi: Free Blog Hosting vs Writing With Your Own AI Agent

Outrank and Blogizi both host an SEO blog on your own domain. The difference is who writes it. Outrank runs content on autopilot: its AI researches keywords and publishes 30 articles a month for $99, and since October 19, 2026 it hosts your blog for free. Blogizi hosts the blog that your AI agent writes (Claude, Codex, Cursor or ChatGPT), working from your product and your own Search Console data, with you approving each post.

If you want content handled for you, Outrank is built for that. If you want a few posts only your product could write, Blogizi is. The rest of this post goes through the details, including where Outrank is the better pick.

Facts about Outrank are from outrank.so and its free blog page, checked on October 19, 2026.

What Outrank launched

Outrank's founder announced free blog hosting on X on October 19, 2026. The free plan includes:

  • hosting on your own domain or a subfolder like yourbrand.com/blog
  • five templates, newsletter forms and cookieless analytics
  • a sitemap, llms.txt and structured data
  • three AI-written posts to start
  • up to 10,000 visits a month, no credit card

There's a small "Published with Outrank" badge. Over 10,000 visits two months in a row, new publishing pauses until you upgrade. The paid plan, Organic Growth at $99 a month, adds 30 articles a month published automatically, images and internal links, backlinks from Outrank's network, no visit limit and no badge.

The logic is clear: every Outrank customer needs somewhere to publish, so hosting becomes the free front door to the $99 autopilot. For someone who just needs a blog, free hosting is a good deal.

The real difference: who writes the posts

Outrank's model is volume on autopilot. It picks keywords, writes the articles and publishes them, 30 a month.

Blogizi's model is the opposite. Blogizi doesn't write anything. Your agent does, in the tool you already use:

  • Claude Code or Codex writes a post in your repository, where it can read your actual code, docs and changelog.
  • Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor connect through Blogizi's hosted MCP server and save the post as a draft.
  • You read it and publish it, or ask for changes.

That matters for a product blog. A post about "how to add a blog to Next.js" written by an agent that has read your codebase can include your real setup, commands and edge cases. A post written from a keyword alone can't.

It also changes the cost picture. Blogizi doesn't charge for writing because you bring the AI you already pay for. If you don't already use an AI agent, that's a real extra cost to count; Outrank's $99 includes the writing.

Where topics come from

Outrank runs automated keyword research to decide what to write.

Blogizi's Pro plan starts from your own Google Search Console data instead. It ranks the queries where Google already shows you on page 2, flags pages that get impressions but few clicks, and checks every post you publish gets indexed. Your agent reads the same list over MCP, so "write a post for my top page-2 query" is one message. We wrote up the method in striking distance keywords, and there's a free Search Console report that runs it on any site.

The trade-off: Search Console only knows about searches you already appear for. Keyword research can find topics you have no presence in yet. For a young site, both are useful.

Agent and developer workflow

Outrank publishes its own articles to a long list of platforms (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Wix, Notion, Ghost, Next.js) and offers webhooks. Its site doesn't document a public API or MCP server for bringing your own agent.

Blogizi is built around agents:

  • CLI: write markdown in your repo, then blogizi draft post.md and blogizi publish post.md.
  • Hosted MCP server: draft_post, update_post, publish_post, upload_post_image and get_search_performance, with sign-in from Claude's connector directory.
  • Skill: a SKILL.md that teaches Claude Code, Codex or Cursor the whole workflow.

Because posts start as markdown files in your repo, you keep a copy of everything you publish.

Hosting

Both host on your own domain or a /blog subfolder and handle the technical SEO basics: sitemaps, canonical tags and structured data. Outrank's free plan adds templates, newsletter forms and analytics at no cost, which is genuinely generous. Blogizi includes RSS, Open Graph images and blog analytics on every plan.

The limits differ. Outrank's free plan caps at 10,000 visits a month and shows its badge; Blogizi's Solo plan covers 100,000 fair-use pageviews with no badge, but costs $9 a month.

FAQ

Is Outrank's blog hosting really free? Yes, up to 10,000 visits a month, with an Outrank badge and three AI-written posts. Articles on autopilot are $99 a month.

Does Blogizi write articles for me? No. Your own agent writes them, or you do. Blogizi hosts and publishes them and gives your agent your Search Console data.

Can I use my own AI agent with Outrank? Outrank's site doesn't document a public API or MCP server as of October 2026; it publishes its own articles and offers webhooks.

Which is better for SEO? Both cover the technical basics. What moves rankings is what you publish: posts that answer a query better than what's already ranking. Autopilot gives you volume; your own agent gives you posts grounded in your product.

Can I move from Outrank to Blogizi? Yes. Copy your posts as markdown, keep the same slugs, draft them with the Blogizi CLI and point your blog's domain or /blog path to Blogizi. The alternatives page has the steps.

Is there a free trial? Blogizi has a 7-day trial for $0 on every plan.
